Pictures 12/28/2019

These are our pictures on the 28th from Edinburgh to the castle.

Balintore Castle

Before we left Edinburgh, we all had coffee near the Christmas village next to the train station.

April had hot chocolate. Which she did not like.
It is the same as hot chocolate in Rome.

Even before coffee, we had to drag our luggage down the streets like April.

We got our rental car and started the long drive to the castle.
Missy found us a great restaurant for lunch.

April and Missy at Lunch

After a long and winding drive
(and a really great lunch along the way),
we finally made it to Balintore Castle
just before dark.

Hallway where April got lost.

This is the great room where we lounged and had our dinner.

We turned the lights out and lit the candelabra for dinner.

Troy's dessert was much better than the mulled wine pear dessert Momma let him try at lunch.

The Louvre and the Petit Palais

Saturday 12/29/2018 The Louvre and the Petit Palais The nightclub on the barge across the river from our hotel parties all night long - all the way through 8am. We did not get much rest. After another 30 euro breakfast, we walked up to the subway station for a taxi to the Louvre. It was a good weather day and there was a long, long line waiting to get into the Louvre. Luckily, I knew about the secret entrance on the side. We walked over to the side entrance. Momma and Troy and Kayla doubted me, but there was an open door and no wait when we got there. It was incredible! If you are facing the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel with the Pyramids behind you, walk past the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel to the far left buildings of the Louvre - Easy Entrance! Tell them Noah sent you! We did not see even a quarter of the Louvre, but we did see the Mona Lis a (we could not believe that the museum does not control traffic flow in that room), the Winged Victory of Samothrace . the Venus di Milo

Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower

Friday 12/28/2018 Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower Our first full day in Paris had a LOT in store for us. We had breakfast at the hotel (30 euros per person) and then we all walked along the Seine to Notre Dame. The walk along the banks of the Seine was really enjoyable seeing the boat traffic and boats tied to the river banks. It is a nice relaxing walk away from the hustle and bustle of Paris. Once we got to Notre Dame, however, we unfortunately stood in line behind an Asian lady who scowled at us because Momma and I joined Troy and Kayla in line in front of her. We let her go ahead of all of us without any 'merci' or 'thank you' or acknowledgement - just a scowl. She later, only three or four minutes later, let her husband and daughter join her in line without asking us. Horrible woman. Luckily, the line moved quickly and we never saw her again in Paris. We toured the cathedral which is a truly inspiring work of art in itself. We were going to walk upstairs to
