London by way of Georgiana, Luverne and Atlanta

12/25/18 & 12/26/18 Tuesday and Wednesday London by way of Georgiana, Luverne and Atlanta Here are the details from our 2018/2019 family vacation to Europe. We visited London, Paris, Calais, Dover and Canterbury. It was a truly inspiring, enriching and enjoyable trip. We are all thankful for having been able to have taken it and we are truly thankful to everyone who shared in this journey with us. Happy New Year! A lot happened on our first day of our trip to Europe for 2018. Christmas Eve was at Kayla's in Luverne. That was a great night although Mark and Kyle did not make it. Troy and I stayed at Momma's house that night and Momma, Troy and I and Tucker rode to Kayla's house the next day to switch all of our luggage over to her Jeep. We had to take Tucker and drop him off with April at the BP station in Highland Home. Kayla drove us to the Atlanta Airport in her Jeep. Kayla drives very well, but I caused her to miss the International Airport exit. I did the

London to Paris on the Eurostar

Thursday 12/27/18 London to Paris on the Eurostar We woke early, had buffet breakfast at the hotel and took a taxi to St. Pancras Station for the Eurostar. We were hours early so we had drinks at the Champagne Bar on the second floor next to the Tiffanys Christmas Tree and waited for Howard. We moved to another restaurant (MI+ME) with Howard at the end of the train station near the kissing statue and had lunch. It was chilly outside, even under the cover of the train station. There is an indoor restaurant we should have eaten at but I only found it when we were getting ready to leave. It was great though to sit and catch up with Howard. Going through Eurostar security, Kayla went first and the security guard yelled at her "Why would you do that?" It was stupid of him. She had just been moving a tray from the lower conveyor belt to the upper conveyor belt - no big deal at all. Kayla said he was probably just having a bad day, but we are all still laughing about it. Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower

Friday 12/28/2018 Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower Our first full day in Paris had a LOT in store for us. We had breakfast at the hotel (30 euros per person) and then we all walked along the Seine to Notre Dame. The walk along the banks of the Seine was really enjoyable seeing the boat traffic and boats tied to the river banks. It is a nice relaxing walk away from the hustle and bustle of Paris. Once we got to Notre Dame, however, we unfortunately stood in line behind an Asian lady who scowled at us because Momma and I joined Troy and Kayla in line in front of her. We let her go ahead of all of us without any 'merci' or 'thank you' or acknowledgement - just a scowl. She later, only three or four minutes later, let her husband and daughter join her in line without asking us. Horrible woman. Luckily, the line moved quickly and we never saw her again in Paris. We toured the cathedral which is a truly inspiring work of art in itself. We were going to walk upstairs to
