Thursday 12/27/18 London to Paris on the Eurostar We woke early, had buffet breakfast at the hotel and took a taxi to St. Pancras Station for the Eurostar. We were hours early so we had drinks at the Champagne Bar on the second floor next to the Tiffanys Christmas Tree and waited for Howard. We moved to another restaurant (MI+ME) with Howard at the end of the train station near the kissing statue and had lunch. It was chilly outside, even under the cover of the train station. There is an indoor restaurant we should have eaten at but I only found it when we were getting ready to leave. It was great though to sit and catch up with Howard. Going through Eurostar security, Kayla went first and the security guard yelled at her "Why would you do that?" It was stupid of him. She had just been moving a tray from the lower conveyor belt to the upper conveyor belt - no big deal at all. Kayla said he was probably just having a bad day, but we are all still laughing about it. London April 2025

I flew to London for a few short days with my brother (Troy), his girlfriend (Polly) and met up with one of my old college roommates (Howie) while there.  4/18/25 (Friday) I flew from Pensacola (PNS) to Atlanta (ATL) where Troy and Polly were there waiting on me. We were all on the same overnight flight to London and landed at Heathrow (LHR). I do not think I slept any during the flight although this is usually how I fly.  4/19/25 (Saturday) Landing in London at Heathrow Saturday morning, the three of us took trains from Heathrow into London and eventually got off at the Tower Hill Station. We did take a few wrong turns along the way, but not by much. We did not end up in France or anything.  The Tower Hill Station was great for us as it is just a couple of blocks from Tower Hotel where we stayed with a fantastic view of Thames. The elevators need work, but the hotel is great. Stay there any chance you get to London. Get a river view room or even a view of the bridge if o...

We're Heading Back to Europe!

Countdown to London Countdown  Yes, we are heading back to Europe for our third European Family Vacation! I'll be going again with my brother, Troy, and our mother, Annette. Plus, our oldest niece, Kayla, is going as well this time. There are sure to be a lot of great stories to come back from this one. What do we know so far? We have booked our flights. On 12/25/2018, we are flying non-stop from Atlanta to London. On 01/02/2019, we are flying back to the United States via London to Atlanta. All the time in Europe is still undetermined, but we are looking at options that would include London, the French Alps, Paris and St. Albans. I have booked a EURail Global Pass for 5 days of travel that will get us back and forth between London and Paris and wherever else we decide to travel by train while in Europe.
