Our 2019 Trip to Scotland

Yes, we are going monster hunting... and ghost hunting... in Scotland! I'm excited about it. Troy's excited about it. Momma's excited about it. April's excited about it! And Missy's excited about it! Yep, we will have a full crew going overseas this time and making stops to see London, Stonehenge, abandoned castles (actually staying in a vacant castle one night), Nessie and maybe even Bigfoot. Who knows what all we will get into before this trip is over.

As usual, we will fly out Christmas Day (this time from Montgomery) and land in London on the 26th (We love those overnight flights even though we do not have First Class seats or anything that even remotely resembles a bed).

You are going to love our first day in England. We land that morning around 8am after flying all night. We immediately rent a vehicle and drive over two hours to Stonehenge and then drive over two hours back to a hotel in London. We'll do a little bit of sightseeing in London as April has never been there before we cannot keep our eyes open anymore. I am sure that first day is going to be exhausting, but our adrenaline will keep us going... I'm sure.

We are on a train most of the 27th from London to Edinburgh where we will stay one night (The train ride should give us a great tour of the English countryside). That will also give us a little time to scope out Edinburgh which is where we intend to spend New Year's Eve.

The next day, the 28th, we drive from Edinburgh to a Scottish castle in which we will be the only ones sleeping that night. We will have a big dinner in the renovated section of the castle, but we will be all by ourselves after dinner when all of the staff leave for the night. The staff will be back in the morning for breakfast and will hopefully find all of us well rested and cheery. We are all anxious to see if we can find any ghosts or Bigfoot that night. April is probably most excited. She plans to bring ghost hunting equipment (cannot wait to see how TSA handles that through security - Thanks, April).

We will spend the next two days around Loch Ness touring castles and sailing up and down the loch looking for Nessie. We may even take car trips further into the Scottish Highlands since we have two days there and we will, no doubt, catch Nessie on the first day.

New Year's Eve will be back in Edinburgh. Troy and I will, of course, have our tuxedos and keep all of us awake as long as we can. That should not be an issue. Edinburgh says it has a big New Year's Eve party every year.

New Year's Day will be on a train back to London and then we fly back to Montgomery on the 2nd. Yep, that is our planned whirlwind tour. I am sure plenty will go wrong, but we will take pictures and videos and Facebook Live all of you to keep you in the know. Watch the news. We will probably be on it.

Cheers and come back soon for stories.

Happy New Year!

The Louvre and the Petit Palais

Saturday 12/29/2018 The Louvre and the Petit Palais The nightclub on the barge across the river from our hotel parties all night long - all the way through 8am. We did not get much rest. After another 30 euro breakfast, we walked up to the subway station for a taxi to the Louvre. It was a good weather day and there was a long, long line waiting to get into the Louvre. Luckily, I knew about the secret entrance on the side. We walked over to the side entrance. Momma and Troy and Kayla doubted me, but there was an open door and no wait when we got there. It was incredible! If you are facing the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel with the Pyramids behind you, walk past the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel to the far left buildings of the Louvre - Easy Entrance! Tell them Noah sent you! We did not see even a quarter of the Louvre, but we did see the Mona Lis a (we could not believe that the museum does not control traffic flow in that room), the Winged Victory of Samothrace . the Venus di Milo

Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower

Friday 12/28/2018 Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower Our first full day in Paris had a LOT in store for us. We had breakfast at the hotel (30 euros per person) and then we all walked along the Seine to Notre Dame. The walk along the banks of the Seine was really enjoyable seeing the boat traffic and boats tied to the river banks. It is a nice relaxing walk away from the hustle and bustle of Paris. Once we got to Notre Dame, however, we unfortunately stood in line behind an Asian lady who scowled at us because Momma and I joined Troy and Kayla in line in front of her. We let her go ahead of all of us without any 'merci' or 'thank you' or acknowledgement - just a scowl. She later, only three or four minutes later, let her husband and daughter join her in line without asking us. Horrible woman. Luckily, the line moved quickly and we never saw her again in Paris. We toured the cathedral which is a truly inspiring work of art in itself. We were going to walk upstairs to
