Things To Do In Paris

I am researching things to do in Paris. Online searches pop-up with the big ones: Eiffel Tower, Musee du Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame, Champs-Elysees and plenty more. The map below shows everything to be pretty close and easy to cover over a few days - at least a few of the big ones for our first trip to Paris. This trip, like our other three family vacations in Europe, will be over the last week of December so the weather will probably be chilly (although our first trip to Europe back in 2015 was unusually warm except for that one day at Stonehenge). The one thing we have on our list as an absolute MUST is to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower (Don't worry, Momma. There is an elevator). I have done this in Las Vegas so, of course, I have got to do this at the original. It is at the top of Kayla, Troy and Momma's lists as well.

Something I imagine most tourists do not include on their lists is the Bibliotheque Nationale de France - The National Library of France. I stumbled across this video and think it might be a great addition to our trip and it is not too far from our hotel. The official website of the Bibliotheque Nationale de France has a lot of great information on its history http://www.bnf.fr/en/bnf/history_bnf/a.from_royal_collections_to_bnf.html.

Expedia posted a beautiful video of Paris sites a few years ago. This only heightens our anticipation of our time in Paris.

RoaseannTangrs, thanks for your video of 10 pics of Paris. Sainte-Chapelle and Trocadero were in your video and are now on my list of sites to see next month. Also, special thanks to your comments from BlunderCity and Lucie Mitregova about the mall entrance to the Louvre via Caroussel du Louvre Shopping Centre and the entrance is 99 rue de Rivoli. Thank you!

Jay Swanson posted "Free (or Cheap) Things to do in Paris" in March of 2018. He mentions the Galleries Lafayette (and its rooftop terrace) which is across the street from the Opera Garnier. Being winter when we plan to visit, adding these indoor options to our plans is great. Thanks Jay.

Have you been to Paris? Have you got any suggestions for our time there? Let us know. We appreciate any tips you can give us. Thanks!

The Louvre and the Petit Palais

Saturday 12/29/2018 The Louvre and the Petit Palais The nightclub on the barge across the river from our hotel parties all night long - all the way through 8am. We did not get much rest. After another 30 euro breakfast, we walked up to the subway station for a taxi to the Louvre. It was a good weather day and there was a long, long line waiting to get into the Louvre. Luckily, I knew about the secret entrance on the side. We walked over to the side entrance. Momma and Troy and Kayla doubted me, but there was an open door and no wait when we got there. It was incredible! If you are facing the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel with the Pyramids behind you, walk past the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel to the far left buildings of the Louvre - Easy Entrance! Tell them Noah sent you! We did not see even a quarter of the Louvre, but we did see the Mona Lis a (we could not believe that the museum does not control traffic flow in that room), the Winged Victory of Samothrace . the Venus di Milo

Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower

Friday 12/28/2018 Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower Our first full day in Paris had a LOT in store for us. We had breakfast at the hotel (30 euros per person) and then we all walked along the Seine to Notre Dame. The walk along the banks of the Seine was really enjoyable seeing the boat traffic and boats tied to the river banks. It is a nice relaxing walk away from the hustle and bustle of Paris. Once we got to Notre Dame, however, we unfortunately stood in line behind an Asian lady who scowled at us because Momma and I joined Troy and Kayla in line in front of her. We let her go ahead of all of us without any 'merci' or 'thank you' or acknowledgement - just a scowl. She later, only three or four minutes later, let her husband and daughter join her in line without asking us. Horrible woman. Luckily, the line moved quickly and we never saw her again in Paris. We toured the cathedral which is a truly inspiring work of art in itself. We were going to walk upstairs to
